Operation - Fat Bastard







Yup, that's me. Disgusting ain't it! Big as a tank and twice as heavy as well as being seriously unfit (I got a new Mountain Bike to pedal my ass round and nearly passed out after 20 minutes riding, yikes)
So I have decided to get fit, lose the extra few tons, give up smoking and basically get my life into some sort of order.
I suspect it not going to be easy so I'm going to keep a diary here of my efforts so that you can either follow my progress or try it yourself or simply take the piss out of me =P
While I document my progress I will post what exercises I've done, what I've eaten, how many cigarettes I've smoked and any other things I think may help. I'm also a bit of a coffee fiend so I'll be cutting that down to 3 or less a day (quite slowly because I don't like the idea of prison)  and also reducing my sugar (currently 3).
Also each week I'll post my weight,  Body Fat, BMI and pictures of my huge (then hopefully not so huge) belly.

Also just as a little piece of addition information that may or may not effect how well I do is the medication I currently take (all prescription lol)
  • I have quite sever Asthma so take Symbicort inhalers 2 morning, 2 night and 2 at any other time if needed.
  • Also as part of the Asthma thing I take Cetirizine 10mg once a day.
  • I also take Trazodone 100mg in the evening before bed.

Now for the important stuff -

1. I have been totally sedate for the last year and half so I will be starting off extremely easily also due to the size I have ballooned to I don't really want to give myself a heart attack. This means that if you want to follow me then you should be good no matter what shape you are currently in, that said just check with your Doctor before starting to make certain.

2. I will be watching what I eat but not dieting, if you follow me I'd advise you do the same and don't try to increase the exercise you take while also doing some faddy 'eat no fat, get no energy' weight watchers diet because if you are exercising then your body needs energy. My eating plan is designed to lose 1Ib per week through the eating alone and still provide enough energy for me to exercise without damaging myself, any extra I lose will be through exercise.

3. My diary entries include times, I start my day at 0500 so that I can jog/run early in the morning (about 0515) this is because I don't want people seeing a small tank gasping and wheezing in an attempt to jog. There is no reason your day can't start later if you so wish and mine will move later as I shed a few pounds and get fitter.

4. Just a tip really. Get a cheap and small MP3 player and put some music you like on it. It will help you enjoy your exercises and makes it more likely you'll stick to doing them.
