The Exercises

Being deeply unfit I'm starting with 15 minutes jogging each morning 6 days a week (everyone needs a rest day) and also some press ups, sit ups after breakfast to see if I can give my metabolism a quick kick and shed weight a little faster.

The Jogging

Due to being so unfit I have to jog as far as I can and then walk for a bit until I get my breath back before jogging some more then repeating this until I've been jog/walking for 15 minutes.Once I am able to Jog continuously for the 15 minutes I'm going to start this beginners level marathon training program

Marathon Training Program

The Press Ups, Sit Ups

Once again being unfit is an arse but moreover here is the huge belly and weight which makes it even harder to do press ups and sit ups (extra weight on the press ups and the belly getting in the way for the Sit Ups) so I have basically started with 5 of each on day one and then added an extra one everyday to build up my upper body strength and to also help tone my stomach and arms (trying to avoid stretch marks here) as I progress through the weeks my target is to reach one set of 12 reps for each and then add in additional exercises such as prisoner squats,  pull ups (when I get a door gym or find a very strong low branch), forward lunges and tucked elbow press ups.

Weight Training

Another soon to be started bit. I intend to buy some dumb-bells and start using them daily to build upper body strength and also to add to my workout as a way of boosting it effect.

Mountain Biking

Funnily enough its this that kind of kicked off everything else I'm doing. You see about 3 weeks ago I was in Asda with my family and saw a mountain bike on sale there for £45 yep £45 so I had to buy it figuring that riding would help me get fit......wrong. Where I live (Glenrothes, Scotland) it is essentially all hills and the first time I used the bike to ride to an appointment I had about a mile and a half from my house and nearly died, couldn't manage even the smallest hill.

So essentially I'm getting fit so that I am fit enough to ride my mountain bike to get fit LOL.
