Day Eighteen - Saturday 23rd October 2010






Not feeling to good today, it seems that the Diclofenac tablets really don't agree with me. Woke up tired and seriously in pain until I took my first lot of Co-Codamol when it eased off a bit. Got some good news though, we have been offered a permanent house :) in case you don't know the reason we have been waiting for this, say you are visiting my blog for the first time and haven't met me through Facebook or anything -

Basically what happened was we were living in a private rented house here in Glenrothes when we discovered (by accidentally opening a letter addressed to the arsehole) that our landlord had been pocketing our rent money and not paying his mortgage.

So after the mortgage company had taken possession of the house (and after the landlord had tried to illegally give us notice) we were asked to leave.
This resulted in us being placed into a temporary house (they tried to put us in a B&B first) where we have been since the end of July.

Anyway we went and had a look at the outside of the house and spoke with the neighbours (who seem very nice and even showed us around their house so we could see what it was like) to see what the area was like and why the house had needed fumigated =S etc.
Upshot is that it seems nice the area seems fine and it's not to far away from the town centre so I think we are going to phone the council on Monday and arrange a viewing and to move in hopefully  :)

Feeling -

Really really got to start eating healthier and at reasonable times. Ended up eating really really late because I couldn't sleep well I couldn't even lay down without my knee killing me so ended up sitting on the end of my bed trying to sort out my laptop :( complete pain in the arse and ended up waking my girlfriend up to boot. Not a happy lady to be woken up like that :(
Really need to also look at drinking more water because I haven't drunk any that hasn't been in either coffee or pop or beer for the last few days.

Day Seventeen - Friday 22nd October 2010






Started taking the Co-Codamol today and I have to say it has quite an effect. I'm getting a lot less pain in my knee, it still hurts but much less than it did. Not to sure about the Diclofenac though, it seems to make my stomach very weird and painful when I take it.
Today has been quite fun, went to Arbroath to visit my step-kids Great Gran. Also had a bit of a look around and had lunch in a cafe there which was delicious, not in keeping with the eating plan at all though lol.
Bought back some Steak and Gravy pies which are supposed to be the best available but they seem to have changed the recipe because I've had better :)

Food and Drink Diary -

  • Smoky and Leek Ramekin with Brown Bread (little bit of Cheese on top)

Feeling -

Not cool at all. Had a really really good day but really didn't eat well at all. Tasted bloody good though lol.
Ended up staying up till 0415 in the morning because I couldn't sleep from the pain in my knee but also because of some truly spectacular heartburn caused by the Diclofenac tablets. I think I'm going to stop taking those ones and see my Doctor again on Monday to see if there is an alternative available.

Day Sixteen - Thursday 21st October 2010






Well today was different, had a driving lesson at 0745 this morning so took a Brufen Retard (very strong 800mg time release Ibuprofen) when I woke up to try and ease the pain in my knee and allow me to drive. Seemed to work for a time, right up until I was doing 3 point turns and the reversing part meant I had to use my leg at an awkward angle for the clutch and the pain flared up again :( could have driven home but I didn't feel that it would be safe with my knee like that.
Also went to the Doctors finally this afternoon, got told it was either tendon or ligament damage and given a script for Co-Codamol and Diclofenac to help with the pain and inflammation. We shall see how that goes.
I was also advised to try swimming once my knees better as a way to lose weight and to also build up the strength in my knees before I start jogging again.

Feeling -

Really not great, my diet has gone totally down the crapper these last few days and without being able to exercise (can't do any sit up's, press up's or kneeling press up's either due to pain whenever I try) I have a feeling all the weight I've lost already will be piling back on. It's starting to make me extremely depressed. Also the pain in my knee gets worse when I lay down so it's effecting my sleep as well, leaving me exhausted most days :(

Day Fifteen - Wednesday 20th October 2010






Firstly let me apologise for not posting for a few days. I've been rather busy and not really on the ball so to speak.
I've also decided to post my entries in a slightly different way mixing my personal posts along with my diet/exercise posts.

So lets get to the week so far. Things have not been going according to plan, I've had to rebuild my PC which lost me my top images (my own stupid fault) you may notice that they have slightly changed with the font and alignment :S. I've also been having more trouble with my knee and it's beginning to have an effect on the rest of my day and activities like not being able to walk properly or very far. Other than that things are OK I guess.

Feeling -

Kind of rubbish to be honest. Since my knee injury I can't really be bothered with anything because every time I move I'm in pain.
Not really an excuse for not following my diet though, although I am going to use it as one ;p
Going to see the doctor tomorrow for sure and see what they say about it and if I need any treatment etc.

Feeling -

Surprised to be honest, I thought I would have done more damage than that. Fair enough I'm heavier than I was last week but I'm still better off overall than I was when I started :)

Hopefully if I introduce some different exercises to help compensate for my knee being buggered until it gets better and also watch what I eat again (bad Dazz didn't really bother last week) then I might show some real improvement by the start of week 4.

Here's hoping anyway :)

Feeling -

Pretty bad today, my knee's been in constant pain and I can't really walk very well. Even bought a walking stick to try and help :(

Didn't really stick to my eating plan at all today much like the rest of the week. I should really go to the Doctors if my knee's as bad tomorrow but I will see.

Think I'm going to write this week off because I cannot possibly see how I could lose anything and think I may have gained weight since last week with being unable to exercise for much of the week and also eating pretty much what the hell I like.
We shall see tomorrow what the stats say and then start doing some gentle exercise and watching what I eat a bit more.

Feeling -

Apart from the pain in my knee, not to bad. As you may be able to tell the diet has taken a little bit of a back seat just at the moment due to me not really being able to move about very much at all lol. I am a little worried about my knee now so am going to book an appointment with my Doctor on Wednesday to see if I've done something serious to it (don't think my amateur Doctoring is going to cut it on this one).

Also can't help feeling that my weigh-in tomorrow night is probably going to show an increase in weight etc this week. Maybe the Doc will be able to give me something so I can at least ride my bike a bit.
